Tony Kishman was born in Tucson, Arizona, where he began his musical career in the early seventies. Although he'd been playing guitar and bass for a number of years previous, it was at the age of nineteen that Tony started taking it seriously, joining Cheap Trix, a covers band who performed Wishbone Ash and Top 40 material. In 1979, Tony played bass, guitar and piano in various theatre shows touring the USA and Canada. The early eighties saw Tony working on various projects in England, including a solo single entitled "Staying With It", which was produced by future Mike and the Mechanics producer/writer Christopher Neil.

While working in England, Tony was introduced to Wishbone Ash's Andy Powell by a mutual friend. During the summer of 1994, Andy began selecting musicians to form a new Wishbone Ash line-up and, looking for a bassist/lead vocalist to effectively fill the slot most associated with Martin Turner, invited Tony to Connecticut to audition.

Tony's vocal and bass skills were debuted on Wishbone Ash's Spring 1995 tour and the resulting "Live in Geneva" album to mass acclaim from the band's fanbase. Even founder member Martin Turner publicly complemented Tony on the quality of his contribution to the band.

Striking a balance between Wishbone Ash and his commitments both to his family and "Twist and Shout", a Beatles tribute show, would prove to be a struggle for Tony and, despite appearing on 1996's "Illuminations" album, many of Wishbone Ash's concert appearances to promote the album saw Martin Turner deputising for Tony. By late 1997 Tony had released his debut solo album "Catch 22" and decided to part company with Wishbone Ash and channel all of his energies into promoting the album and other Stateside projects.
