Trevor Bolder - Bass/ Vocals
1981-83

Trevor Bolder 1981

Trevor Bolder was born in Hull. Coming from a musical family, Trevor started playing cornet and trumpet at the age of nine in brass bands in his home county. He graduated to playing guitar in his early teens before switching to bass and joining up with close friend guitarist Mick Ronson to play in local bands gigging around the Hull area.

In 1970 Trevor and Mick were joined by drummer Woody Woodmansey for the formation of the band Ronno, who in 1971 were adopted by David Bowie as his backing group the Spiders From Mars. Trevor went on to record three albums with Bowie - "Hunky Dory", "Aladdin Sane" and "Ziggy Stardust" - and toured the world over before Bowie broke up the Spiders in 1973. Trevor then went on to work with Mick Ronson's solo band.

In 1976, Trevor was invited to join Uriah Heep, as replacement for John Wetton. Trevor played on the albums "Firefly", "Innocent Victim", "Fallen Angel" and "Conquest", establishing himself as a strong songwriting force in the process. Business frustrations led to Trevor parting company with Heep early in 1981 and almost immediately stepped into the vacant bass position in Wishbone Ash - ironically replacing John Wetton - the player he'd previously replaced in Uriah Heep five years earlier. Trevor spent two years with Wishbone Ash - a particularly intensive period of touring as the band charted new territories such as India - and appeared on the album "Twin Barrels Burning" in 1982.

1983 saw Trevor returning to Uriah Heep. Trevor remains with Heep to this day and has appeared on the studio albums "Equator", "Raging Silence", "Different World" (also produced by Trevor), "Sea of Light", "Sonic Origami" and "Wake The Sleeper", as well as several live releases.
